The boat tour itself was fine, so this is more of a warning for people with food allergies. I don't expect my food issues to be catered to, but seriously. The "normal" people had donuts, salmon chowder, meat on their sandwiches, and cookies. I called ahead and asked for a gluten free lunch. The "sandwich" I received was a smear of hummus (?) and some lettuce on a gluten free bun. No cheese. No turkey (what everyone else got) and not much flavor. Beware of Room 35. It doesn't get hot water. It us a known issue but they book it anyway. The bed and pillows are lumpy. The lighting is dim. Staff is nice. Evening meal was good. Day boat tour was great
We didn’t stay at the lodge, so this bad review is for the tour… it was not worth the money at all, especially when flying Alaska Seaplanes same day in and out just to catch it. Not worth the money. Boat was dirty, barely saw any wildlife and even when we did we couldn’t get close and it was poorly narrated. Would have rather booked a helicopter tour out of Juneau.
Beautifully maintained lodge with excellent, affordable meals and friendly staff. It was a great experience.
