Giovanni's Bakery in Newington was a staple for years being a true traditional Italian bakery my new york relatives loved when visiting Connecticut. At first I thought the new owners were going to carry on the same traditions which they insisted they were. But in the past 6 months they have literally cut the menu in half. No more pizza, baked breads, spinach pies etc, it's all been reduced to pastries. That's your choice but if you're going to rebrand the entire Giovanni's name you should be advertising that. I placed a order for a Fruit cake for a Birthday. The girl who answered asked what size I told her HB Myrna and she said I'm allset. I go to her what color are you gonna make it. She stated whatever color they have available...I said you don't ask the customers what they want? She said why did you want a specific color? I said yes light purple border and purple and yellow flowers. And the flowers look like a child made them and I had no purple border.
