About this business

In the early 70s, Marvin and Ruth Mohl opened their mall built from salvaged buildings, including old shops, houses, barns and granaries. They encouraged independent businesses with favorable rental agreements and continue to do so today. In the shadow of the Cascades, customers walk the cedar boardwalks and the brick sidewalks, shopping for shoes, snowboards and clocks among myriad other items at the more than 40 upscale retail shops. The shopping experience provides counterpoint to the glitter of the big malls. Restaurants... read more

I was surprised to see that the website of Gilman Village still boasts of 40 stores and restaurants. When we just visited there was about 8 stores - not all of which were open during the advertised hours of the Village. I wish that management would update the website to accurately show the stores in the Village.

Everybody's Gone! – Although I did manage to find something I was specifically looking for in a store, there's really nothing of interest to me left in Gilman Village. All but 1 of my favorite stores is gone. The economy has really taken a toll on this Issaquah treasure. It's a shame.

There are so many empty stores it looks like a ghost town in the middle of the Christmas season. My fondest memories of the village were the specialty stores like Mykens pet store, Grass Roots, Made in Washington, and the Country Moose. One by one these stores have mov... read more
