Great food, excellent atmosphere, and (a rarity these days) good service. While I imagine it is technically family-friendly, this is more akin to a place you'd take your spouse for an anniversary than a place you'd take your kids to.
An absolute awesome food and drink experience.
If you've never lived in the south, this might be ok for you. I ordered the short rib. First sign of trouble: I was asked how I'd like it cooked. Second sign of trouble: it arrived with a giant steak knife. It was the toughest, grisliest piece of meat over ever had at a restaurant. It was massive but inedible. The mashed potatoes were served basically cold and had a skin on them from sitting on the plate too long. The place is old; everywhere you can see dust, and it is not clean! The food was not fresh at all, specifically the banana on top of the French toast. The restaurant was not busy at all, but we had to wait a long time for the check and my card.
