I have been a faithful shopper at Giant Eagle since they first opened in Altoona. I have not liked them as much since corporate took over but still go there. But I may have to stop. Increasingly they force me to buy store brands or not my favorite brands. For some reason I particularly notice it in the pasta and noodle aisle. Now I see they are not going to carry a local dairy. That might be the last straw for me. However, I will continue to buy their fried chicken.
Shop there every Saturday morning, a good many shelves are not stocked. There is always something I’m looking for that they don’t have, this week it was walnuts in the shell. Grapes seem to be fresh only every other week. Only keep shopping � there because they let fuel perks accumulate longer than one month.
I WENT SHOPPING THERE TODAY AND I'M SORRY THAT I DID ! THE CASHIER WAS VERY NICE,BUT WHEN I TRIED TO GET SOMEONE TO HELP BAG MY GROCERIES NO ONE WANTED TO HELP. I ASKED ONE YOUNG MAN TO HELP BAG MY GROCERIES AND HE SAID HE WOULD GET SOMEONE(SURPRISE! NO ONE CAME OVER) THERE WERE 3 PEOPLE STANDING AROUND TALKING ABOUT WHEN THEY HAD TO WORK. I SAID SOMETHING TO THE MANAGER ,HE SENT A LADY OVER , AND SHE HAD THE NERVE TO ASK ME IF I NEEDED HELP !!!!!! I SPENT $300 ON GROCERIES ,I'M PACKING ALL THESE GROCERIES. Giant Eagle is the number one store I go to. The staff is very helpful. When you changed the store around of course I was lost. There was one of your staff that has helped me a lot then and still does. I only know him by his first name, Roger. He works in the dairy department. It doesn't matter how busy he is he will take time to show me where something I am looking for is located. The management is also great. I want to thank everyone in the store for there help. I love Giant Eagle. Went to buy peanut brittle......horrible. it's so salty. Usually it's the best around.
My daughter and I were shopping at the store yesterday and she was choking on some food. I yelled for help and within seconds a customer came and took over for me. I turned around and within those same seconds 10 -15 employees were running to help. They were amazing !!!!! They got her a drink and helped her and stayed by us till she was able to get up and made sure she was ok. And then everyone we saw they kept asking to make sure she was ok.
