A friend of mine in town to attend the Quilt Surface Design Symposium went into this Giant Eagle today with her service dog (clearly marked as such). Upon checking out she was told by the staff to never come back to the store with her dog. Not only was this action blatantly illegal, it is morally offensive. Hey Giant Eagle, train your staff if you want to retain customers. You just lost my business and that of everyone else at the symposium who heard this story.
This is the only store close to my home. The grocery department is ok and the front end people are great - wonderful even, but the other departments SUCK. I have waited upwards of 20 minutes for a deli associate to stop talking with a friend in order to help me, the bakery rarely has the fresh buns I want (Hamburger buns, really?), and the produce is dismal. At purchase, it's about 1 day from being rotten. This could be a GREAT store, but it needs some help from Corporate.
The pharmacy at this store drops the ball a lot on preparing prescriptions. Something goes wrong 4 out of five times when prescriptions are ordered.
