Booked a private tour for 7, ages 4 to 42. We had an amazing time! We showed up at about 8, our guide Zach had everything set up and ready. We learned about some sea creatures, got the run down on catching ghost crabs, and started our quest. The first 30 minutes or so were slow, it was still pretty light out, then the sun went down and we caught so many crabs! We loved this experience and felt it was a great value for an evening of fun for all ages!
Do this only if you enjoy seeing children murder animals. This is a disgusting, barbaric business shrouded in fun and games. Participants run around whacking crabs with nets. Most of them survive this torture done for our amusement; but some do not. I saw at least 4 crabs killed, including one that was a soon to be mother carrying her eggs.
This was absolutely a blast! It’s a super kid friendly activity and fun for adults too. Zachary was a wonderful guide. He genuinely seemed like he was passionate about what he was doing! I wish I could’ve given him a bigger tip honestly.
Every review here is 100% accurate; Ghost Crab Quest is one of the best things to do in OBX.
