This place was so special to us. We stayed here years ago to engaged, and wanted to celebrate our honeymoon here as well. In the time from stepping outside the vehicle to walking around to get my bag out of the backseat, I was inundated with ticks. Within approximately 3-hours, we picked more than thirty ticks from ourselves, the bed, and all of our personal belongings. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want to be absolutely ravaged by ticks! We only stayed for three hours and had to pick off 30+ ticks. They claim they have sprayed outside, but that’s clearly not the case. Wish we would’ve read reviews before staying. Management has been incredibly rude and hard to work with stating that “they’re part of the ecosystem.” Honeymoon ruined.
I regret to say that I cannot recommend this cabin. Our experience was highly disappointing, and I wish I had paid more attention to previous reviews before booking. We decided to take our two young children and our two dogs for an overnight stay, but after only three and a half hours, we had to leave. The tick infestation was simply overwhelming. BEWARE: Bed bug bites!!! I had cabin “GARVIS” for two nights. First night I arrived really late, I had mild itching during sleep and woke up with just a few red marks on my arms and neck. I never left my cabin. I stayed inside the entire time and the one time I got out, i went and sat near the fireplace to read a book. I did not hike. Second night was miserable!
