My dad who is 80 years old has been going to Dr. Gerstein for several years and visited the office yesterday for his annual eye exam. He was tested by a pregnant eye tech who shall I say, was not having a good day. He is a bit hard of hearing and there are times that a question needs to be asked twice for him to understand. I visited this place recently for the first time with lots of problems with my eyes. The Doctor only looked at my face & said everything is ok, but he still gave me two different eye drops & told me to come and see him again. So, after that they gave me two more appts. Everytime he would spend only 5 seconds to examine me. I have seen other doctors & been told that I have serious problems with my eyes. I regularly visit Gerstein Eye Institute for my glaucoma. I have been a patient of Dr. Mel's for years. I occasionly see his son Dr. Craig when he is not in the office. The staff is always friendly. They are helpful with my insurance problems- I have an HMO and require referrals- and are attentive every visit.
