I would’ve given him a zero Star, if I could have, for his professionalism and his bedside manner. When I showed up because my primary made the appointment and it was possibly due to a car accident and as soon as I mentioned that, he Kicked me out of his office and wouldn’t let me even talk to him. I have never been treated so poorly in my life and I’m 72 years old. If it was referred to him and not made clear to him that it was possibly due to a car accident, that was not my fault. I would not take my dog to this man.
I was taken aback by the dingy dirty office and the dingy dirty Dr. He asked me why I was there (back pain). He basically said the only thing he could offer was an anti inflammatory medication like Ibuprofen. When I tried to ask him about how a neurologist could help- he said I could do 4 things 1. Surgery. 2. PT/Chiropractic 3. Shots and 4. Pain medication. The only thing I haven’t tried is surgery. Then he stood up and scooted me out the door. The only good thing I can say about this location is Dr Gerlings medical assistant is so sweet and helpful. Dr Gerling prescribed me a preventative, and unfortunately I had a bad reaction to it and his response was just to stop taking it and hope the headaches just go away on their own, but be sure to continue to follow up in a couple of months. Felt very much like a "you're wasting my time" type of encounter. So I won't be going back.
I am 56 & had an ischemic Thalamic stroke in August 2023. If you're looking for a neurologist (or a STROKE SPECIALIST as Gerling prefers to call himself) LOOK elsewhere! __________________________________ I scheduled an appt with Dr. GERLING yesterday 04Oct. Since I have no history of stroke- i wasn't sure what to expect and honestly I am terrified. I couldn't choose a negative star rating. Initial visit for spouse post stroke and he actually asked if she "really had a stroke" with zero review of her med records. Numerous times stated "I make the rules in my office" and are you here "Dr hunting". Asked him why would we be "Doc hunting" when trying to figure out what caused the stroke and to mitigate any future strokes.
