I looooove paella, but so few places serve it and fewer make it well. On a short getaway, we found a farmer's market in Occidental. Gerard's Paella had a booth. When we walked by the first time the Paella was cooking in the giant pans. Later we returned and ordered the chicken and shrimp Paella. We were served a generous bowl of goodness. Gerard’s catered my uncle’s celebration of life and the food was outstanding. It was the best paella I’d ever eaten (I should’ve taken a picture of it cooking and I forgot to take a picture of it plated because I was too busy munching and thinking “Damn, that’s good!”) and plan to use them in the future. WOW, these guys came as far south for the Burlingame On the Avenue 2024 event. I've been to Spain so I have an idea of what to expect. These guys have been catering for 20 yrs, so obviously they are doing something right. My serving was the first dished out for the day, it was a hardy serving. The shrimps were FRESH and the chicken tender, it fact the dish was juicy enough such that I didn't require a drink to help digest it.
