Dr. Appel's extreme brilliance is exceeded only by his kindness. His vast knowledge and experience with nephrology have allowed my wife to thrive after three kidney transplants, the last of those donated by me. Plus, the other doctors on the nephrology team -- Dr. Freeman and Dr. Begum, in our case -- are absolutely the best: extremely smart, informed, and kind. We feel very lucky to get care from the Columbia Presbyterian team.
