I have ben a member of this credit union for many years (since it was Georgia Telco) and I have done pretty much all of my banking here. That includes financing cars and mortgages, and maintaining checking accounts, savings accounts and equity lines. But recently, they have really gotten bad. The customer service has become non existent. The Georgia Credit Union have adopted some of Bank of America's illegal practices. If you are considering opening an account there, I don't recommend it. Like Bank of America, the Credit Union of Georgia will hold transaction....move dates and transactions around in order to incur fees ($30.00) each. They tell you that your transactions are in 'real time'....don't beleive it. Like Bank of America they will do whatever it takes to get those fees. The service at this particular branch was very slow due to understaffing. Once I got to the person I needed, the service was efficient, but by then I was quite irritated after waiting on the one teller they had to be available.
