I went in for my first visit and they took my insurance and told me that I was covered for this 150 dollar initial visit. I was on my parents insurance at the time. Evidently I wasn’t covered but I didn’t find out until my next visit when they lady rudely told me I still owed 150 and I wasn’t eligible for assistance. I was a college student making 12k a year (you can look at my taxes) and offered me no payment assistance but they offered payment assistance to my sister who is graduated with a full time job. I am incredibly disappointed with the way they treat patients here. I had two sessions with a counselor I truly connected with and then.... After two sessions, I was told via email that I would not qualify for the sliding scale. Okay. So I pivoted and tried my insurance, although I was fairly certain they did not cover counseling sessions. A few days before my third appointment, I email the Office Manager that I had been corresponding with and asked if she found out if my insurance was going to cover anything.
