I had Genrenew install solar on my roof about 8 years ago. I recently needed to get my roof replaced and called to get a quote for the job. When we originally got the solar system we specifically asked how much it would cost if the roof needed to be replaced... We were told it would be $500 for the removal and another $500 for the reinstall. The quote I was given from them was close to 8 times that amount! I understand that the price would have gone up maybe 20-30% or something like that but 800+% more? To be somewhat fair, ... read more

Read your contract. It specifically states that the owner is responsible for any materials left over from the project. You might think that means you need to throw out a card board box. I was left with a 100+ lb inverter in my basement with no way to carrying it up the stairs since I am a senior citizen. Throwing such an item in the garbage is inappropriate. Its a sad irony that a company promoting a green solution does not follow through and dispose of an old inverter responsibly.

so disappointed with the whole process! purchased from Genrenew in 2019, no my roof has to be repaired and they wont honor the contract i had with Genrenew for the one time removal and instillation for repairs. Now I have to pay a sunpower merchant for the removal and reinstallation plus the repair of the roof. So where i thought solar is a money saver its not.
