Best Deli (period!) If I still lived in Oakland I would eat here everyday. It's that good. I live in LA and I always compare the food to Genovas. Nothing compares. Every time I come up to visit my folks, the first place I eat is here. I fax in my order, and I would recommend that or calling in ahead of time because they get very busy, especially on the weekends.
Best sandwiches of the east bay. Oh my god, I can't believe there aren't a hundred five star reviews for this place already. This place has the best sandwiches in the east bay. Don't even mention Cheese and Stuff. Not even close. They also have great pasta salads. As I said in my review of the Napa location, it's great for a picnic and potluck. I love to pick something up here, put it on ice, and head out for a hike or jog in Tilden or the Marina, then picnic with your snack.
SANDWICHES oh my gosh the sandwiches at Genova are sriously sooooooooooooooooo good! I always get the vegetarian sandwich.. I'm not even a vegetarian anymore but the oil and vineger-ness of it is just delicious!!! They put all kinds of yummy olives and artichoke hearts and yeah... so good!!! They are only like $.75 cents more expensive than the average deli and the people there are totally sweet. I don't know if it's family run, but it seems like it.. A word to the wise. Never go in between 12 and 1. You will wait for 45 min... read more
