I had a small basel cell carcinoma on the right side of my nose which was treated with radiation. Treatment commenced 13/4/23 and finished 15/5/23 being 21 sessions with Gerry Adams being the Radiation Oncologist. It is 16 months later and my skin is still sore, feels burnt and I can not wear sunscreen as it irritates the area. I can not wear glasses that have plastic frames as this causes the skin to react. I do not recommend this treatment and in hind sight should have opted for the plastic surgeon to excise the carcinoma.... read more
Thank you to everyone at GenesisCare, from my first visit to the last, they were so positive and show so much personal interest in all of their patients. Dr Adam was so fantastic he explained everything so well. The same with the nurses, their explanations just helped the treatment go so smoothly. I had radiotherapy at the Genesis Care a 7 week treatment. When I started my course the staff were so caring and helpful . The course was made so easy for me because the staff mainly young staff were so pleasant and always you were called by your first name ...Everyones course is different and the requirements for the different treatments is different but you were never in trouble if on some days you messed up ..They went out of there way to help and you enjoy the course the best you can.
