My brother-in-law had his Genesis towed to Charleston Genesis from North Myrtle Beach for the cost of almost $900. I drove 2 1/2 hours with them to pick up the car after having the starter replaced. When we got there the check engine light was on. They were ready to let him take the car. When I asked why the light was on I was told “It could be a plethora of problems.” WHAT???!!! Great story. Bought a G70. A day later the seat belt light comes on (and goes off and on) so call for service appointment. Bring it in, they have the car a couple of days to fix a "spring". Pick up the car and as I'm driving home, the horn starts blowing all on its own. Get home and call the dealer. I say it's not safe to drive it like that. I regret trusting CJ, a service member, at this location to attempt to repair my luxury vehicle. I spoke with Frederick, a salesman, about looking to trade my vehicle for a G70 after my repairs by CJ were complete in order to receive full value for my trade. The service manager & Frederick suggested that I allow CJ to do my repairs after hours prior to making a new purchase. However, CJ was already in possession of my vehicle going on 30 days. I have never had as bad an experience with a car dealership as the one I have had over the past five + weeks at Genesis of Charleston. On Febraury 13th, I brought my GV 70 in because of decladding of my wheels and a check engine light. I was told that it would take a number of weeks for Genesis corporate to aprove a warranty wheel replacement but they had a local provider who could refinish them for $600.
