Genesis Larkin Chase in Bowie is a horrible horrible facility. One visit my father had a catheter full of blood and I had to demand an ambulance be called. Impossible to call into the facility. The front desk answers,but sends you back to the nurses station where there is no answer. Most days I try to call at least 10 times. They don't care about the patients and ignore them. I went to Lassell House for two weeks following a total knee replacement. When I arrived I was incapacitated with acute pain. The care received was excellent in all areas. The physical therapists and occupational therapist who treated me were highly skilled, motivating and very effective. The daily staff were a pleasure to meet and made my stay very productive. Highly overrated at 4 stars. Most of the staff seem like they don't want to be bothered. Found 2 aides that went over and above with the care they provided my wife and it was greatly appreciated. The therapy provided was minimal in both planning and execution. There were days where my wife was never taken out of the bed. Therapy plan seemed more concerned with insurance reimbursement than improving her condition. Site is in bankkruptcy currently.

If you are not able to visit your loved one during their stay there and they are not capable of expressing their concerns, do not sent them there. Poor communication to the point that concerns are not addressed unless you ask repeatedly. If I had money. my loved one would not be there.

They sent my mother to the doctors with no one to advocate for or help her. She's in a wheelchair and is on dialysis. She went to the doctor's appointment by herself. The driver just drops her off and the doctor's office had no idea about her transportation home. I just had the time yesterday to stop in for the visit on my way home. The driver when picking was late and there was no communication from Hillcrest about the approximate time of pickup even though I requested a callback. Recently my sister was a resident at Meadows. She passed away March 10. The care she received from admissions, to nursing, activities, food service, goal planning, Catholic church services, etc. was excellent! Little sister was not the easiest client, but staff worked with her and our family to solve the problem, when one arose. She could have been passed on to another facility but never was. We are so thankful. You, the whole staff were outstanding. Thank you.

My name is Dennis Amer and my wife Elaine just completed two months of rehabilitation at Langdon Place of Keene . I was so impressed with everyone involved with her care . Not only were they successful in getting her broken leg back to normal they made her stay as comfortable as possible .From the doctors , nurses ,therapist , RNA's and office staff we thank you all so very much PS I highly recommend Langdon Place of Keene

Please think twice before leaving your loved one at this facility. It always smells like urine, and they do not take care of the residents as they should. The residents' words against the things they write down on their papers or say over the phone to family members may not be a real reflection of what is happening.
