Gem Electric Supply, Inc got its start in February of 1970, when partners Bill Conrad and John Manning bought an electrical supply store at 3143 W. 95th St. in Evergreen Park. They also bought an empty building at 10334 S. Michigan Ave. in Roseland. With much hard work, and many long hours, both stores began to thrive. If I could give this place less than one star I would. I’ve been waiting for six+ months for a 4 gang meter box (due to supply shortage). My electrician referred me to Gems. When they finally received a shipment I went to purchase the box which retails between $400-500 only to be told that I need to spend an additional $500 (so roughly $1k) in order to purchase the meter from them.
