Although we were so tired from driving all day across country, we decided to stop here for dinner because it looked promising. And it surely did not disappoint! We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and liveliness. The food is probably the best you will get in town and it was good. Nothing crazy out of the norm, but we were satisfied. And might I add, very reasonably priced. If we ever drive through Hays agains, we’ll definitely be stopping by Gella’s!
The burger I had was great
This place is the best kept secret in Western Kansas and I’m not kidding. The food was absolutely phenomenal. I got a Kansas City strip. It was cooked to perfection & delicious We had six people at our table. Everybody got adult beverages and 4 of us got steaks. Cooked perfectly!!! Toby was our server. Great guy. My nephew went to school at fort Hayes 20 some years ago, We would always stop in at Gella's to eat when we were visiting him. Likewise if we happen to be in haze for some reason passing through to Colorado or whatever we would make a point to stop and eat as well. I had my heart set on a bie rock, But was told they ran out the night before. So then I was scrambling to try to figure out what I wanted on the menu. All things are relative. For Hays Kansas a decent beer pub. I didn't drink, but the food was okay. Appetizers were the biggest hit.
