I have had the unfortunate reality of two major fires in twelve years. Your Insurance Company is a for profit business and the adjusters job is to mitigate the claim. Your agent may be your "friend" but they have no control or influence over your claim. Whether a tree fell on your garage or the house had a major catastrophe - handling this yourself is to big, to complex and to time consuming.
