... Literally had to argue with their staff about how many times I've been seen and what the medical assistant said as to the progression of care for MY HEALTH, also they NEVER returned my messages or ordered labs, made me waste time and money driving to places to get labs done.
My first visit to Gateway Medical in Carnegie was disappointing. After my previous doctor left her practice, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Amy Strope, expecting attentive and respectful care. A few weeks ago, I started a new job that required a physical and a TB test, so I called the office to arrange these appointments. I was not informed that using my Medicaid for the work physical would count as my annual physical or that I could have opted to pay out of pocket at Med Express for $50, allowing me to keep my schedule... read more
I went to get an annual check up as a new patient. At first they sent me a bill without billing my insurance even though I signed the consent paper to bill the insurance. So I had to call them to fix the problem. Then about two weeks later I found out my insurance cannot pay the claim in full amount because UPMC billing dept is refusing to submit claim with preventive care billing code. UPMC is claiming that they cannot use the preventive care code because I am their new patient and this is what they do to ALL of their new p... read more
