Somebody at Gateway Bank just terminate my call. Didn't even offer to call me back. Very unprofessional service. If your bank doesn't want to offer a callback service, it is not my problem and I will use my assisted device. Very much not a community bank that you should support. They have bloody good rates which I can't say no too.
It is such a pleasure dealing with the people from Gateway Bank - they obviously enjoy their jobs and also like looking after their customers. Whenever I have called, I have got through to a real person quickly and they have been very helpful. If they can't answer something they have always got back to me promptly and with the right advice. I totally recommend this great bank.
Appalling customer service, they use a 3rd party fraud team that was rude and unhelpful and Gateway wasn't much better. They were holding all my payments and couldn't explain what information they wanted from me . I eventually figured out they wanted to know who and why I was paying and I told them and it was legitimate. It didn't seem to satisfy so I kept asking what it was they needed to know ... they hung up on me. I have been with Gateway from early 2000. They went from a Credit Union customer benefit bank to a small bank. Now I'm not sure somewhere in between. Competitive but doesn't quite take care of long term members. I'm still with them since my first car loan 1999 & I can't say I'm entirely happy with the current customer service mortgage loan process.
If you think the customer service of the big 4 banks is bad wait until you experience the call centres and general processes of Gateway. Not equipped for customers who aren’t Australian residents and the call centre staff seem to say whatever it takes to get you off the phone. Recommend recording calls with the call centre so you don’t start to think you’re going insane.
