Always a standard Gates gets more and more expensive each year, but when you have friends and family in town, you can't help but go! THis location is centrally located just down from the Plaza area and is right next to the old original location. Their food is great I love the sauce.
Great BBQ While living in KC, Gates Bar BQ was my favorite place to get BBQ. Each sauce was full of flavor. The people at the counter greet you as soon as you walk in the door. The meats are smoked to perfection. My favorite thing to get here is the Pork on Bun with fries.
Gates Bar Bq is terrible Terrible staff, rude and pushy, way overpriced, and terrible meat and sauce. I do NOT recommend to anyone. Ba experience from people who never really complain about bbq.
Can't beat the price I used to live in Overland Park, KS. We used to go to the Gates and Sons in Leawood. It is not as good as the one near the Plaza, but still good. The prices for the sandwich and sides are not bad.

Yum! To me, this is the best Gates in the city. They are fast, the meat is tender and not too fatty. This is also the location where people come to get the chili cheese fries. Gates gets more and more expensive each year, but when you have friends and family in town, you can't help but go!
