I have a feeling that Guest61588 about an "8v swap out is not being honest or thinks he knows more about his car than Jim. the guy, Guest61588, has not being honest with Jim about the car or honest with us in his review.

I had them swap in a new 8v in my jetta. After the swap they told me my water temp gauge was not working. I told them that it was highly doubtful and that the car wasn't heating up. It needed a new thermostat which they said they replaced. Drove the car home to notice huge clouds of smoke from the exhaust while idling. Took the car back to them (1.5hr drive both ways) to have them swap out the thermostat I suggested in the first place. Problem fixed. Car has been in shop between both visits for almost 4 weeks now. When I lived in Pocatello from 88-98 Jim was by far the most impressive, fair, and honest mechanic I have known before or since.

Extremely fair and easy to work with, definately worth the 3 hour drive from slc.
