I had my son take his 05 Subaru to Gary after a local shop (highly rated, I might add....) started telling me that the car needed $25 Irridium tipped spark plugs. I called Gary to find out if the $430 charge sounded right, and boy, am I glad I did! I knew this particular car used platinum-tipped spark plugs and that the usual charge from a Subaru garage was around $40 for all 4 plugs. So, I figured the charges were inflated. I would recommend Gary's Shop to any Subaru owner within a 250 mile radius. He is truly a Subaru Expert. He was very friendly and up front about what he was going to do and how much it would cost. He had my 91 Loyale purring like a kitten. Besides he is a Lefty.
Best Mechanic I Have Ever Had Gary is the best mechanic I have ever had. If you ever have anything wrong with your Subaru he will figure it out. I took my Subaru Outback to him for five years. The only reason I stopped going to him is because I couldn't convince him to move to L.A. to continue to be my mechanic. Even after I moved down he helped me out by telling me what questions to ask the mechanic here in Los Angeles. If I ever move back up I am definitely going back to him.
