Garmin has disappointed me greatly. I own a GN430 WAAS COM/GPS used in my aircraft. The model has minimal support by Garmin and if you need a repair the cost is outrageous, considering only my Com board is the issue. I believe Garmin has an EProm in the firmware, which should be an easy quick fix. They do not permit me to send it directly to them for repair, I have to use a Garmin authorized dealer to send it in, of course a big mark up is made by dealers and Garmin. Sharing my story. I bought the FENIX5 XL watch in 2021. It stopped working today for no apparent reason. The company offers to sell me a FENIX 7 or similar watch with 20% rebate. No other possibility, including repair, is offered. I had a forerunner garmin watch before, which also stopped working. A friend of mine also had a Fenix watch which also stopped working and had the same offer from Garmin. That's not a deal in my opinion. Garmin car gps. Don't buy. It take ages to update maps with a non user friendly Garmin Express software! Battery time is really poor!
