Dr. Lavien is a very knowledgeable and caring urologist. He didn't ignore my husband's elevated PSA, but got to the root of the problem. He pays close attention to details, and we appreciate that. We had gone to two other urologists, and they both ignored my husband symptoms. Special thanks to Dr. Lavien and his great care team!
Gave me an incontinent mitrofanoff and refused to fix it or acknowledge that he did not do the surgery right. Claimed that it was impossible for it to be incontinent due to the tests they preformed during the surgery. Frequently the mitrofanoff would leak. Not small amounts, mind you. Having to change outfits multiple times a day and sheets multiple times a night apparently amounts to no incontinence according to him. My husband had a lot of urinary tract infections. We feel Lavien sold us a bill of goods. He said my husband’s UTIs would diminish or stop if he did an ileo vesicostomy, which he did. After several follow-up visits, Lavien said, literally, I got nothing for you. He was arrogant and acted like he had all of the answers, he did not. We went to a new urologist, referred by a friend, as the UTIs continued. New doctor said he never does ileo vesicostomies because of the problems that occur as a result.
