This was a while back for a new annual but it was not a good experience, felt very rushed & dismissed. Was hard for me to get a word in. Felt anxious instead of calm with her. She’s kind of intimidating? Was referred to her from a friend who liked her a lot. Maybe just not the right fit for me but some people like her.
I don't understand the negative reviews on here. I saw Dr Chawla last year for a preoperative exam, everything went smoothly. I saw her last week for a yearly physical when my primary did not have an appointment available for 6 months so I booked with her. I asked through the live well app if she could order blood work prior to appointment so she would have results when I saw her. She did and very thoroughly went through all of the results. Dr.Chawla had been my doctor for probably nearly a decade and for those years I liked her and had no complaints. Until I did! In hindsight, I see and realize all the things she missed and errored that she as a doctor should have known. In the end I had to demand a test be ran after she said it wasn't in her realm to run. (An abdominal ultrasound after soo many stomach issues and pain.) She sent me to a gastroenterologist who was clear that she should have run that test. I then left a message and demanded it. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Dr. Chawla denied me routine blood work and a urine test which I received every year with my previous doctor. I explained my concern with having blood in my urine in the past and would like a urine test and she said since I don't have symptoms of UTI she can't order a urine test. She proceeded to tell me she can't order a full panel blood test per my request because I don't have health conditions and it's not backed by science. If I could give a zero star I would. This was by far my worst healthcare experience ever. I have a known thyroid autoimmune condition and she refused to order my routine annual thyroid bloodwork. She also did not feel my thyroid during the visit at all which is typically a very routine procedure for those with thyroid conditions. I also expressed some concerns about my toes related to autoimmune and she never even had me take my shoes off to look at them.
