Bring a mechanic with you when purchasing vehicles or a code scanner. Garden Island deletes codes and they will pop up after you have taken the car home. And not to mention how difficult it was to get my registration mailed to me because they didn’t write down the right address. I question their integrity. Never buying a car from them again.
I purchased a 2009 Subaru from Garden Island Motors in 2023 knowing that the AC and stereo were not functional. I was not made aware of any other mechanical issues with the vehicle. Less than 16 hours after purchasing the vehicle, I noticed the smell of raw fuel and discovered that the fuel sending unit was leaking, as well as what looked to be rat nesting material around the leaking unit. I alerted Garden Island and they agreed to reimburse me for $300 to replace the fuel sending unit and clean up the rat debris. I received... read more
We rented a car at this location during our cruise in Hawaii in early March 2025. staff was very friendly and the price was reasonable. Even they provided us free ride back to cruise after returned the car. Strongly recommended!

Friendly staff crappy service. Brought a 2010 GMC Sierra in March of 2024 drove it for 2 wks transmission went bad. Shifts hard frm 1st to 2nd and has a loud bang when shifting. Toke it back they couldn't fix it warranty covered a new transmission. Waited 2 months for the transmission to come in and get it replaced. Drove it for a few days and the transmission started to shift hard again. Toke back waited a few weeks. Got it back again and drove a few more days and the same thing happened again.
