I had my first visit with Dr. Maria Garcia Rivera, and I left feeling disrespected. Rather than taking the time to understand my concerns, she referred to me as “a character.” That comment, in the tone and context it was used, felt dismissive — not professional or appropriate for a first appointment. I do my own research and try to take an active, informed role in my health.
