I could not be more impressed by the skill, professionalism, kindness, and caring of Dr Shankar and his Team at MGH. In July 2025, I had a multi disc fusion surgery to relieve chronic pain in my lower back. By mid-October, I was able to dance pain free at my son's wedding. I continue to rehabilitate in 2026 with the help of physical therapy and follow up with Dr Shankar and his Team. Dr Shankar's caring and professionalism extend to his entire Team, and in particular Kathleen LaVoile who supported both me and my spouse.
When I contacted the office, I spoke with Dinika. I was extremely emotional and in tremendous amounts of pain. She walked me through step-by-step and calmed me down. Right from the front door this office is amazing. Dr. Shankar operated on me and I went from a wheelchair to walking. Everyone that I saw from this office was exceptional. Dr. Shankar listened to my concerns and suggested a sensible path forward. His ability to assess physical presentation while comparing with imaging was reassuring. He is also a cool guy. Shoutout to his assistant Danika who is a scheduling wonder. Thank you both!
