We just returned from our vacation to Montana and found Gallatin River Lodge. It exceeded our expectations. From the moment we pulled into the long driveway, we were in love. Everyone at the lodge was so helpful and friendly! Being our first trip to Montana everyone was so helpful daily giving us ideas of things to do and where to go. We felt like we were at home with family the entire trip. We definitely will be back and cannot wait to see everyone!
My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the Gallatin River Lodge, at the end of a rather grueling business trip. We wanted some place to relax and we also planned a trip into Yellowstone. We stayed in an upstairs room and in almost every sense it was perfect. Two things hurt the trip, however. The first was that a large group, or what sounded like a large group, booked a private dinner in a room across from ours. It was pretty loud until pretty late. We’re locals, so we haven’t stayed in the hotel, but unfortunately we gave the restaurant two chances and both times it was pretty terrible. We went once for dinner and once for Easter brunch. For dinner, we both had (undercooked) duck. It was pink, and totally the wrong texture, in addition to being under seasoned. The cocktails were full of tiny ice chips that watered the whiskey down quickly. Easter Brunch had absolutely nothing special—no special menu, no festive flowers. Beautiful location with a vast open space, which was perfect when traveling with a dog. Simply open the doors and you have acres to wander and enjoy the peaceful surrounding. Cozy, small lodge setting that was a great alternative to a traditional hotel. Friendly staff who were receptive throughout my stay. Only negatives are the $45 optional snack mix in the room, which seems like a trap to have you (or your child) accidentally open upon arrival and then realize you’ll be charged. My husband and I usually stay in the traditional crowded hotels but for a special event, I wanted to treat us to something that was different and enjoyable. After days of searching, I decided on Gallatin River Lodge, and I really wanted to use the bathtub so I booked us Room 1 which was right next to the check-in station on the ground floor.
