Dr. Gallardo is the absolute best eye surgeon! His staff is the kindest and most professional staff in any medical facility. I have taken my wife to every doctor around, including those at UNM in Albuquerque NM, and Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Dr Gallardo is my superhero. Many years ago I developed increased inner ocular pressure. He was amazing. He put a shunt in and replaced my lens expertly. Because my situation is chronic, I have to go in often. His office staff is very kind and professional. They always take such good care of me and are also very kind to my husband. Was dropped as a patient after requesting to be seen by Dr Gallardo. Only time he treated me was for cataract surgery, seen by his associates since. Very rude office manager
We specifically chose Dr Gallardo to do the eye surgeries on my family member's eyes. - On the first visit, Dr Gallardo assured us he would treat my family member like he would treat his dad. - We only saw Dr Garallo twice -- that visit and then the one right before the first surgery then we got punted to his associate for all subsequent follow up visits AND for the second surgery. - No one ever spoke to us to explain why the doctors were changed or even ask us if that was okay. - Perhaps we were changed was because my famil... read more
Doctor used to have staff perform tests prior to patient visit. Now schedules doctor visit separate. This change increases cost and inconvenience to patient which indicates a lack of care for patients' time and health concerns.
I was referred to Dr. Gallardo by another eye surgeon in Albuquerque. Dr. Gallardo removed cataracts in both eyes in preparation for a retina surgery with another specialist. I selected the premium IOL and astigmatism correction that insurance does not fully cover. The surgery provide a near and distant correction to both eyes. The surgery on each eye was smooth and recovery uneventful. I was able to toss the old, thick lens, glasses afterwards. Marisa, his MA, was very helpful.
