We were a group of three couples and booked a three hour sunset cruise over July 4th weekend. Derrick was so wonderfully chill and shared his knowledge of the local sites we passed. Very clean boat and we lucked out with perfect weather and a spectacular sunset. Will definitely do this again. Highly recommend.
If you are looking for a loud, rambunctious captain for your next party cruise, please look elsewhere. Derrick is a super chill guy who really loves to sail and to share the experience with others. I had the task of making up to my mom who I took on a disasterous fishing charter a couple years ago where she got really sick. Derrick was flexible and helpful in picking a calm day on the water. I had the luxury of going out with Derek for a charter on his 45ft sail yacht, "The Alyan". While Derek wasn't in charge of the weather which was absolutely perfect, he can take credit for the rest of an absolutely amazing day. I not only got to relax as we toured Sag Harbor, but also got a first rate sailing education. He let me be involved in every aspect of sailing which just heightened the experience.
