Dr. Galeckas is an incredible Mohs surgeon and dermatologist. He is extremely thorough with explanations and expectations. As a nurse, I have never met a physician with better bedside manner as well as skill. I would highly recommend him to friends and family!
For a Mohs train surgeon, Dr Galeckas is extremely aggressive in removing non-cancerous growths to the point where he creates significant scarring. I have had three other physicians express concerns about the scarring that he caused in removing benign growths. Dr. Galeckas states that scarring can confound the diagnosis of cancerous lesions, yet he has no qualms about creating scarring. Fortunately, MaineHealth is starting a Dermatology practice. Alternatively, consider traveling to Boston.
Dr. Galeckas explained procedure thoroughly and was reassuring about results. He listened attentively and addressed my concerns. I am very pleased with the result of my surgery and the appearance of the reconstruction of my lower lip. His assistant was very thoughtful and caring.
