We stayed here as a group for the 2021 Chicago Marathon and truly our stay here was incredible! The rooms were great and very comfortable. The hotel staff was also excellent. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and next time I’m in Chicago- would stay here again
I've been staying at the Rafaello hotel for many years, every December for my company's holiday party. I've always loved staying there, it’s a great location and the rooms were very nice. When Gale bought Rafaello, I decided to give it a try and boy was I disappointed. First, the valet parking was gone, I know this sounds trivial, but this was the first thing that made me think the hotel was no longer first class. The room was beautifully decorated and the location was perfect for everything we wanted to do, unfortunately that was the extent of the good qualities. There was noise coming from the bathroom all night, making it impossible for us to get any sleep. When we mentioned it to the front desk they said they would send maintenance to look at it, but they never came. The walls are super thin. The room was nice and clean. The 2 issues I had is. The heat/air conditioning controls don't seem to work. Room was a ball dripping 81 degrees. The second issue is a bit more serious especially if you experience lower back pain. The bed was rock hard, literally. After 2 nights on this bed, I could barely stand my back hurt so bad. Upon further investigation, I discovered the mattress was upside down. These mattress cannot be flipped. They even have a big tag that says "this side up" so I'm in incredible pain due to this negl... read more
