Hard to reach by phone. Refuse to see a doctor. Rude unprofessional receptionist .
This is the only doctors office on Gabriola, but if you are not a patient here you won’t be able to see a doctor. Despite telling the receptionist about a cancer history and a genetic condition that makes me more at risk with a concerning/worsening new symptom that aligns with those two things, I was told “it’s too complicated” for them to start a file or see a doctor there, because I’m not already a patient. Not sure why a walk in clinic (where no one is really a patient) in Nanaimo would serve me better in this case, but t... read more

One of the people who answers the phone is wonderful and will try to help you... the other will outright scoff / laugh at you, accuse you of changing what you're asking if you try to provide more details on why you want to see them, call the use of the mixed walk-in "inappropriate", and THEN say they're at capacity. If you get the good one and there's room to see you, great clinic. If you get the one who loves to turn people away, all hope is lost.
I just can’t deal with the gabriola medical clinic anymore!!! Every time I go there, they’re closed, or out on lunch, or my appointment has been cancelled without warning (happened twice now). Every time something comes up and even if I do get in, or my partner or family member does, they’re dismissed or nothing comes from it despite the very obvious medical issues they’re dealing with.
