This little gym was my home away from home when I lived on Gabriola. The owners are the loveliest people, the training sessions were super helpful, and I still use them today at my current gym. I still buy a drop in pass when I visit - GFC I miss you!
Jo-Jeff and Tasha have definitely created -- maybe more so 'nurtured' into existence -- a wonderful space and place and (one of) my happy place(s) on Gabriola. And more than being just a 'bricks and mortar' site, they have managed to not just bring the community into the gym, but to make it feel like the gym and the programs, classes and events are infused into the community, too. It's such a safe, welcoming, non-judgemental place to improve fitness.
Not always staffed, but management made it easy to organise to get in. Small but great use of the space. It's got almost everything you need. Good quality, old school plate loaded machines. Great quality rogue barbells and rogue bumper plates, and dumbbells going up to 100lbs. I appreciated the massive amount of equipment in the functional area especially the ballet bar. I'll be back!
$25 for a drop in? Yikes.
