The ambience was great and exactly as it looked in the photos online, which I really appreciated. The food was also very tasty, and I enjoyed my meal. The only surprise came when I received the bill. I was charged $40 for my plate of amala, whereas the online menu listed it at $34. I ordered mine with fish, so I'm wondering if meals with fish are priced differently from those with beef. This is my second time ordering from this restaurant, and unfortunately, it will be my last. The first time, we dined in and waited almost an hour for our food, only for my husband’s order (efo and pounded yam) to be prepared incorrectly. We chose to overlook the mistake and give them another chance. Today, we ordered takeout. I ordered amala for myself and pounded yam for my husband. Really unprofessional staff.
The funkey’s special jollof rice was definitely not good. They had nothing available. From starters, to cocktails or mock tails . It took almost an hour for the food to be ready and at the end of the day, the food was not great.
I will rate the food a solid 10. But the customer service was bad. The lady I met kept my fiancee and I waiting for over 5mins while she was on a call. No courtesy of pls give me a few mins. After she eventually attended to us, she spoke like it was a favour selling to us. When our food was ready, she casually walked up to me and handed it over with her left hands.
