I just finished reading Dr. Stein’s book titled, “What If It’s Not Depression.” As someone who taught Psychology for 25 years and has done Resiliency Training I was extremely impressed with her holistic approach to assessing and thus working to establish a healthy mind and body. The book is not about depression but rather about how to identify what may be causing physical and mental variances from a state of homeostasis. I would highly recommend it to everyone. Nancy is a fantastic coach and complements Dr. Stein's work beautifully. I came to Functional Mind because I knew I was sick even though conventional doctors and specialists were telling me my labs were normal and offered SSRIs and therapist referrals instead of helping me address the fact that I could no longer stand upright without feeling dizzy. I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Stein in November 2025 while seeking care for my daughter's medical concerns. Since then, her health has improved tremendously. Her attention to detail and genuine compassion for her work have shown me that there are physicians who are both highly knowledgeable and deeply committed to the well-being of their patients.

If you are willing to put in the effort and have patience with the process, Dr. Stein is the right functional medicine physician for you. She and her staff are excellent! I've been working with her for 10 months and can't say enough about the care and treatment I have received. She's extremely thorough and takes the time to explain things in terms you will fully understand. I feel the best I've felt in years and can say without a doubt, it is the result of the work I've done with her.
