How do you go from my favorite 5 star local sushi restaurant to a 1 star nightmare experience in a year? Fugu, you broke my heart. I've dined at some of the best sushi restaurants in Tokyo, NYC and LA. When I bought a home in Flagler Beach in 2020, I had little hope of finding a great sushi restaurant here until a well-traveled friend recommended Fugu. I was blown away. Went here for my birthday dinner with a party of four, and it was absolutely worth the trip! We traveled from Saint Augustine, so it was about a 45-minute drive, but we would do it again in a heartbeat. This place was all-around just really cool. The inside has such a unique vibe, but we chose to sit outside. The music was perfect, the service was outstanding, and the food was excellent.
