I had a previous aquablation surgery about two and a half years ago. The surgery was very difficult to recover from and at the two-year mark I was having trouble urinating. About 5 months ago I started having large blood clots in my urine that I was able to pass for a while, but ultimately, I had to go to the emergency. I'm 74 and had HoLEP surgery with Dr. Fuad Elkhoury of UCLA Health. I suffered over 20 years of BPH, and he saved my life by getting me off the several BPH medications and their devastating side effects. Frankly, I feel like having another life again. I suffered from BPH which eventually completely blocked my ability to pee. My San Diego urologist only wanted to talk about TURP as a treatment.
