The Frying Pan was a former lightship, but eventually fell into disrepair and sunk due to a broken engine. It was bought by its current owners and repaired in the 1980s and now serves as a popular bar and grill. However, the ship still retains its sunken look in the lower levels in order to acknowledge the Frying Pan's long history.

This was such a great place... The concept is terrific. Right on the water with magnificent views of NY&NJ
I came in early this morning 8/9 to see about making reservations for a table of 12 for my wife's birthday. I had my 1 year old great dane with me and told them he'd be with us as usual -they didnt say that they didn't except dogs. I even asked for a table out front and off to the side cause I know that's where they were allowed all last year. Came here with entire birthday group at 6pm to be told that he wasn't allowed. I had to leave to take him home - I disappointed my wife on her birthday. I guess i don't understand sinc... read more
