I have had Italian food in many of the "hubs" across the States (New York, Boston, New Haven, etc.), this is easily the best Itialian food I have yet to have. After going to college in town, I now make a point to stop here whenever I visit for the spaghetti and meatballs (family size).
What a great experience! I needed a quick place to eat while I was traveling through Bozeman, and found this place. Point blank the food was great the atmosphere was wonderful and the staff was top notch!
What happened!?! Fresco was our favorite place! I ordered the Wild Alaskan salmon and penne recommended by our server. It was inedible!! The salmon was ok, the pesto penne was hard and swimming in a bowl of oil and butter. And, not in a good way. The gorganzola was a congealed glob with mushrooms hanging on. This is a wonderful, enjoyable restaurant. My wife is full-blood Italian (Genovese), so we tend to be a little snooty when it comes to Italian food—and this place did not disappoint. We started with the mussels as an antipasto, and they were outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The light wine broth was so delicious I could have eaten it on its own like a soup, especially with the soft, fresh focaccia served alongside.
