The Lon D. Wright Power Plant is a 130 MW[1] (megawatt) coal-fired power plant owned and operated by the City of Fremont Department of Utilities located in Fremont, Nebraska. The plant consists of 3 units labeled 6, 7, and 8 as a continuation of five units that were previously housed in the downtown facility.
Check out the east side of this public utility in late summer. There are blueberries, raspberries and other edibles there for the picking. It’s a really nice way to manage public property. Imagine if every green public space had edible forests. Going for a walk would entail a sun kissed snack and maybe we would end up figuring out how to become sustainable in our food system. Dreams do come true.
Fremont Power Plant has a 5 star rating with 2 reviews.
Fremont Power Plant is closed now. It will open tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
