In addition to the multiple telescopes set up for the public, there are plenty of satellites, constellations and shooting stars to watch for when you're not peering into an eyepiece. Want to get a million miles away from the busyness of life, Fremont Peak Observatory awaits you (most Saturday nights).
Our scout troop stays at this park just for the astronomy nights. We just returned from another wonderful astronomy weekend. Let them know if you are a large group so they can send you a quick video on what to expect and how to prepare - arrive at twilight, bring a red flashlight, etc. We enjoyed the lecture about what we're looking at when we see the Milky Way, and it was great to look through all the telescopes. .
