Citysearch Editorial Review – Located on the Greenway, Minneapolis’ main bike thoroughfare, Freewheel offers everything a novice and professional biker could need: water bottles; lights; clothes; reflectors; bells; grip tape; and maps to help you navigate. The wide-open, concrete space is a dominant force on this strip of the Greenway, where riders can easily pop in for a tune-up, a smoothie and even an ice-cream cone. New to the biking scene? The staff here is pleasant and open, willing to help both the newbie and professional. Best of all, there’s a “tester grill,” which allows bikers to test attaching their bike to the front of buses so when it comes time to go totally mass transit, the transition is all smooth sailing--and biking.
