My daughter Tracy Irvin went in to Freestone Medical Center this afternoon against everyone's better judgment. She has a 16 year history of gastric issues. For the last few days she had been vomiting with severe abdominal pain. She hasn't ate or drank much in that time and it was concerning because she is also type 1 diabetic. Insulin requires food to work properly. No food can mean metabolic/starvation DKA. When she got there it was around 1:45, and by the time she got an iv placed it was almost 4. My grandpa came into the ER for chest discomfort and we had a really great experience. The staff was kind and attentive, and Dr. Edmunds took excellent care of him. He was thoughtful, thorough, and made us feel very comfortable during a stressful time. We’re really grateful for the care she received, and if we ever need ER care again, we’d be happy to come back.

It’s Saturday afternoon out doing some yard work when I trip with a weedeater on my hands and end up landing on my shoulder! I figured I should go to the emergency room to see if anything is broken. I was pleasantly surprised with the emergency room at Fairfield. From the receptionist to the doctor (Dr Asay) everyone was very pleasant and seemed like they were happy to be there helping people like me.
